The La Marzocco Swan Automatic Grinder is the first grinder from the Italian pioneer of coffee machines. Nearly a hundred years of experience with espresso machines has been channelled into a product that challenges every traditional idea of how a grinder should look and work.
Swan uses patented technology to remove static electricity. An electric field neutralises the charge created during grinding, so the coffee falls straight into the portafilter without clumping or grounds flying onto the counter. Retention is also kept to a minimum when you change the grind setting.
The motor speed stays constant regardless of the coffee's resistance or changes in grind setting. Dosing is based on burr revolutions, not a timer. This brings a precision that timer-based grinders cannot match.
Waste heat is minimised in two ways: a belt drive isolates the burrs from the motor's heat, and the efficient burrs grind the same amount of coffee in ten revolutions instead of the 110 turns traditional burrs would need. The portafilter starts the grinding through its conductivity: no buttons, no parts to wear out.
The interface is the same as on the Linea PB espresso machine, so baristas learn it quickly. Cleaning is easy as there is no internal coffee chute.
Swan is designed for espresso and made in Italy. It comes with an EU plug (C/F), so it works straight away in the Nordic countries.
